SolihullforSuccess.co.uk has been put together by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (Solihull MBC) and partner organisations. The aim of the site is to:
* Promote the Borough, the Council and its services.
* Facilitate access to Council services.
* Provide information to residents, users of Council Services, businesses and the general public.

The main "portal" to the website. Features all information and links to the various parts of the website. A large amount of this page functionality is database driven and using the latest AJAX technologies to provide a high level of user interaction, whilst keeping browser compatibility and accessibility.Business sign up facility
The Business directory allows for registered members to be able to submit their own Business directory information. In addition, all visitors to the site will be able to search the directory for existing businesses.The search can be done by either business type and/or keywords. Records found are displayed in a presentable format, with a largly AJAX interface allowing the quick browsing through records.
Tendering Process
A tender can be submitted by registered directory members either as an 'open' tender or specifically to a list of specific directory members. Auto notification emails are sent accordingly and respondees are able to reply through the site.Jobs area
Allows the user to sign up to be able to search job posts, and offer general advice, again relevant events and downloads can be added to the pages.Latest News
News articles can be uploaded to the site through the secure CMS system, or a live RSS feed can be imported as/when required. Each article can defined by a Title, Description, Publish Date and Single JPEG Photograph. The Photograph are automatically resizes by the system when uploaded to the correct dimensions used on the site.Events area
A number of Events that relate to Solihull. The events are shown in date ascending order (with the soonest first). Each event has a defined Title, Description, Venue etc.Other features
- Relevant Links/Downloads/Events/News can be associated to each page through the CMS.
- A Poll can be defined by a single Question and up to 4 Answers. The poll system will use an AJAX component to dynamically submit the poll data and will return in an interactive format the current results obtained from the database. The site administrator will be able to view a list of Polls within the CMS system, and when clicked will display the percentage (and number) of submissions for each Poll Question.
